Peaceful greetings, my name is Marcellin, the founder of Avva. My journey with eczema has been nothing short of painful, exhausting, and life-changing. I have suffered from severe eczema since birth, spending much of my life in and out of hospitals, trusting doctors and relying on topical steroids as the only solution. For 23 years, I never knew about Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) - until I did.
The moment I learned about TSW, my life changed. I watched countless videos of people suffering through it, and after weeks of research and tears, I made the toughest decision of my life—to go cold turkey and withdraw completely from steroids. Nothing could have prepared me for what followed. One week in, I felt completely broken—my skin was burning, peeling, oozing, and cracking. I was bedridden, sleepless, and mentally unstable. My skin was raw, flaky, and in constant pain. The emotional toll was just as devastating as the physical suffering.
